Making donations through automatic payroll deductions, matching gifts, and even online shopping are easy ways to contribute to AAVS and help animals.

Independent Charities of America (ICA)

The Independent Charities Seal of Excellence is awarded to the members of Independent Charities of America and Local Independent Charities of America that have, upon rigorous independent review, been able to certify, document, and demonstrate on an annual basis that they meet the highest standards of public accountability, program effectiveness, and cost effectiveness. These standards include those required by the US Government for inclusion in the Combined Federal Campaign, probably the most exclusive fund drive in the world. Of the 1,000,000 charities operating in the United States today, it is estimated that fewer than 50,000, or 5 percent, meet or exceed these standards, and, of those, fewer than 2,000 have been awarded this Seal. AAVS is proud to have been awarded this honor for three years running.

Combined Federal Campaign (CFC)

AAVS participates in the Combined Federal Campaign and other workplace giving campaigns as a member of the Independent Charities of America. The mission of the CFC is to promote and support philanthropy through a program that is employee focused, cost-efficient, and effective in providing all federal employees the opportunity to improve the quality of life for all.

CFC is the world's largest and most successful annual workplace charity campaign, with more than 300 CFC campaigns throughout the country and internationally to help to raise millions of dollars each year. Pledges made by Federal civilian, postal and military donors during the campaign season (September 1 to December 15) support eligible non-profit organizations that provide health and human service benefits throughout the world. Animal Charities of America (ACA)

Animal Charities of America is a nonprofit federation that pre-screens high quality national charities working to protect animals. They present these charities to potential givers in fund drives at work and on the web. ACA participates in the Combined Federal Campaign and AAVS is part of this federation.

Workplace Matching Gift Programs
Many companies offer matching gift programs to encourage charitable giving by their employees. Your gift can be doubled or, in some cases, even tripled! Please remember to include the appropriate corporate forms when sending your gift to AAVS. It is often possible to request a payroll deduction and have the donation processed by your employer and accompanied by the matching amount at the same time.

Sanctuary Fund
This fund was established to benefit sanctuaries that provide safe havens for animals who were once used in laboratories or exploited in other ways. AAVS has always helped to arrange release of animals from laboratories and provide for their care, whenever possible. Your contribution means that primates, horses, dogs, and other animals will have a secure home-for life!

The fund is named in memory of Tina Nelson, AAVS’s Executive Director from 1995 to 2005, who visited and helped sanctuaries all over the U.S. Make her legacy your own, while supporting AAVS's mission to end animal experimentation. Gift of Membership
